The famous introduction to being present to the moment.  The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment is a book  intended as a self-help guide for day-to-day living and stresses the importance of living in the present moment, “the now”, and avoiding thoughts of the past or future.

The Power of Now was first published in 1997, and gained mainstream popularity when recommended by Oprah Winfrey. In the book, Eckhart describes how he learned to manage his nearly suicidal depression and the epiphanies that went along with the experience.

Whether or not you are interested in meditation, this book surely puts things into perspective when it comes to what you focus on in life. If you are present, living in “the now”, there are no problems. That may seem like an odd statement, but in this book, Eckhart has an answer for every objection possible!

Reading this definitely will change your life! At first you don’t really know what he’s talking about but as you go along you gradually let go and just “get” the vibe of his writing. Recognizing how concepts such as the “pain-body” show up in your own life and having the tools to realize that all of your thoughts and behavior isn’t you – and to be able to strip that away, let go of stress… just amazing.
